I’m so happy we’ve found each other. This means a lot to me.

I'm excited to share pieces of my writing life with you. The process, new poetry, upcoming projects, announcements (you'll know before anyone else!) and stuff I don’t share anywhere else. But more than anything, I want this to feel like a real connection between us.

Before I go on, let me introduce myself. I’m Ellen, though I write under my pen name Elyn Desiree. I’m a medical doctor by profession. That is the official 9-to-5 part of my life. But outside the hospital, I’m also a poet and the author of ​Wander Under My Sun​ (my debut poetry book).

Writing has been part of my life for a long time, but poetry became the place where I learned to understand my own thoughts.

When I’m not working or writing, you will probably find me doing one of a few things.

• Listening to music
• Watching cat videos on YouTube
• Scrolling Pinterest longer than I planned to
• Looking for new books to add to my Kindle app
